NX4 Industries R50 Pathfinder (96-04) Suspension
Systems
NX4
Industries offers two variants of R50 strut spacers;
Mid Mount and Top Mount. Please find a description
of both below.

Shown
above is the mid mount spacer on the left and the
top mount on the right.
The Middle Mount as shown above left fits
between the upper isolator bracket and the lower
bracket. This will cause the spring to be compressed
by 1" within the travel of the strut. This is
an excellent choice to level out your front end
after adding a winch bumper. This setup maintains
your factory maximum CV angles as the lift is
maintained within the confines of the strut
travel.
Note that when accompanied by NEW aftermarket
LIFT springs, you may experience strut 'top out', a
condition which may damage the strut over time.
These spacers are best combined with OEM springs.
The Top Mount as shown above right
is fastened or placed on top of the isolator
bracket. This configuration moves the entire strut
assembly downward. by 1". This configuration
will not affect strut top out issues and is slightly
more economical when looking to simply level out
your ride or add 1" of lift. This configuration is recommended to be
accompanied by oversized fasteners to improve
strength.
Threaded vs. Clearance hole
- Lets end the confusion.
The threaded spacer simply helps to
keep the fasteners in place during assembly into the
vehicle. Otherwise, having loosebolts resting on the
upper spring perch would prove to be quite
cumbersome.
The unthreaded spacer is usually
accompanied by our new studded lower brackets which
feature G8 hardware. This setup takes all the guess
work out of the installation and essentially makes
the assembly process into the vehicle the same as it
would be or a reguar strut change/ installation.
